Corey Perry Signs with Edmonton Oilers on One-Year Deal

Veteran Forward Joins Oilers After Facing Allegations

One-Year Contract with Performance Bonuses

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired veteran forward Corey Perry on a one-year contract, the team announced on Monday. Perry, 38, has been a free agent since March after facing allegations of domestic violence. The Oilers will be Perry's fourth team in the NHL, having previously played for the Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, and Montreal Canadiens.

According to The Fourth Period, Perry's contract with Edmonton will include performance bonuses. The deal will reportedly pay Perry $750,000 if he plays in 10 games, $1 million if he plays in 25 games, and $1.25 million if he plays in 40 games. Perry will also have the opportunity to earn additional bonuses for goals, assists, and power-play points.

Perry is a three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Ducks, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoffs' most valuable player in 2007. He has scored 404 goals and recorded 529 assists in 1,151 NHL games. Perry is expected to bring a veteran presence and scoring touch to the Oilers' lineup.

The Oilers are hoping that Perry can help them make a deep playoff run this season. The team finished first in the Pacific Division last year but lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Colorado Avalanche. Perry is a proven winner and knows what it takes to succeed in the NHL.

Perry has not publicly commented on the allegations against him, and the NHL has not taken any disciplinary action against him. The Oilers have said that they are aware of the allegations and have conducted their own due diligence before signing Perry.
